MGEX Drops Origin Condition For HRSW Futures

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange has scrapped the U.S. origin condition for deliveries against its hard red spring wheat futures contract.

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) has scrapped the U.S. origin condition for deliveries against its hard red spring wheat (HRSW) futures contract. The measure will allow HRSW from outside the U.S. to be delivered on the contract, provided it meets the contract guidelines of the exchange.

The MGEX Contracts Committee recommended that the exchange’s board remove the U.S. origin condition from the exchange rulebook. The alteration will become effective from the May 2013 contract month.
