Japanese car manufacturer Honda is opening a new assembly line in Mexico with an investment of $800 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The plant is likely to assemble the next-generation Fit car for North America and Mexico.
The assembly plant will employ 3,200 workers and produce up to 200,000 vehicles a year. The plant, which will be located near Celaya, will increase Honda’s production capacity in North America by 12% to 1.83 million vehicles.
