Investors Redeem $984M From SPDR S&P 500

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF witnessed $984 million of outflows, while the Energy Select SPDR ETF lost $572.4 million, as of Aug. 5, 2011, Index Universe reports. Investors pulled out $1.84 billion from ETFs, as total assets in U.S.-listed funds fell about 1.5% to almost $1.031 trillion from $1.046 trillion. The fall in ETF assets was seen due to plummeting markets. Investors pulled out $154.5 million from the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index Fund and $154 million from the iShares S&P U.S. Preferred Stock Index Fund.
