HKMEx Adds Duo To Senior Management

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange has appointed Jonathan Cowan as managing director for Europe.

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (HKMEx) has appointed Jonathan Cowan as managing director for Europe. Cowan will take charge of the exchange’s marketing strategy and operations in Europe. The Chinese commodities marketplace has also hired Stephane Lannoy as executive director for operations and technology to work under the unit’s COO Lieven Van den Brande. Lannoy will handle the operations and technology teams’ daily management. Previously, Cowan served at Cantor Fitzgerald’s eSpeed/BGC unit as senior vice president and global head of electronic futures and options, while Lannoy was executive director and co-owner of AsiaEx Consulting Services.
