Romania Gets €188M Loan From IFC, EBRD

World Bank-member International Finance Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have granted a total loan of €188.2 million for renewable energy projects in Romania.

World Bank-member International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have granted a total loan of €188.2 million for renewable energy projects in Romania. The total funding includes a syndicated loan of €50 million from banks CaixaBank, Société Générale and Unicredit Bank Austria. The IFC and EBRD are granting €36.7 million each to Pestera Power and €57.4 million each to the Cernavoda I & II wind farms. The projects, majority-owned by Madrid–based EDP Renováveis, together constitute almost 40% of the total wind generation capacity in Romania.
