Kawaljeet Saluja of Kotak Securities, who finishes third, “has become a highly visible and important presence in this space,” observes one backer. Saluja earns high marks for upgrading Tata Consultancy Services from reduce to add back in July 2009, at 416.80 rupees, on growing international respect for the Mumbai-based high-tech solutions supplier as more than just a cost-savings alternative. The shares rocketed 175.7 percent, to Rs1,149.30, and shot past the sector by 105.9 percentage points, through May 2011.
