The Walton Family Foundation is investing around $49.5 million in a nonprofit organization of Teach For America. About 50% of the investment amount will be used to support the organization’s national effort to double the size of its teaching corps and to support its network of alumni leaders in education.

The remaining money will support the ongoing training of the nonprofit and for professional development of around 5,000 first- and second-year teachers in seven communities. The Walton Family Foundation, which was set up in 1962, invests in programs and organizations that expand parental choice and equal opportunity in education.
