Guy Shahar, former co-head of equity derivatives trading at Goldman Sachs, has partnered with Marble Bar Asset Management’s managing director of trading James Diner to create a new hedge fund firm, Financial News reports. Shahar will be CIO of the new firm DSAM Partners, while Diner will be its CEO.
The duo intends to unveil a European long/short equity fund in the fourth quarter, combining short-term trading with fundamental investing. DSAM is in talks with a large institutional seed investor and may close the fund to new investors at $500 million.
