CME Group is planning to raise daily price limits on Chicago Board of Trade corn contracts by 33%.

CME Group is planning to raise daily price limits on Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) corn contracts by 33%, Bloomberg reports. The exchange operator is seeking to increase the trading limit to 40 cents from the current 30 cents.

The proposal needs approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). CBOT initially forwarded a proposal to the CFTC in April to increase the daily price limit to 50 cents, but later trimmed it to 40 cents.
