Citi May Expand China Outlets By 50%

Citigroup is considering increasing the number of its outlets in China by 50% in 2011.

Citigroup is considering increasing the number of its outlets in China by 50% in 2011, The Wall Street Journal reports. The lender is planning to open 15-20 outlets that will bring its total number of outlets in China to 45-50.

To support the expansion, Citigroup has also appointed around 1,000 employees in China in the last 12 months. Citigroup, which launched its operations in China in 1902, currently operates 37 outlets in the country.
