France Offers $14B Tenders For Wind Farms

The French government is planning to construct five offshore wind farms.

The French government is planning to construct five offshore wind farms, The Wall Street Journal reports. The government has floated a $14.26 billon tender offer for building the farms and a second tender is expected to be launched in April 2012.

GDF Suez, Vinci and Areva are expected to offer bids for the project. A group of six engineering firms, including EDF Energies Nouvelles, Alstom and Dong Energy, may also be interested in the tender auction.
