Wellcome Trust To Invest $1.5B In Africa

Wellcome Trust is planning to invest around $1.5 billion in Africa as a part of its plan to increase exposure to the country.

Wellcome Trust is planning to invest around $1.5 billion in Africa as a part of its plan to increase exposure to the country, IPE reports. The investment of the medical foundation will be completed over the next five years.

Currently, Wellcome Trust has $500 million of capital invested in the continent and is aiming to increase it to $600 million by the end of 2011. So far, it has struck three investment partnerships in Africa, two of which are private equity investments.
