Romania Gets €114.8M Wind Farm Loan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and World Bank member International Finance Corporation are lending a total of €114.8 million to Romania’s Cernavoda Power.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and World Bank member International Finance Corporation (IFC) are lending a total of €114.8 million to Romania’s Cernavoda Power. Both EBRD and IFC are providing contributions of €57.4 million each.

Around €42.2 million will be maintained by both lenders for their own accounts, syndicating €15.2 million each to a group of commercial banks. The loan will aid Romania’s plan of increasing renewable energy production by co-financing the construction and operation of the Cernavoda I & II wind farms.
