SEC Reviews Exxon’s Role In Libya SWF

The Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking information regarding Exxon Mobil’s possible payments to Libya’s sovereign wealth fund.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking information regarding Exxon Mobil’s possible payments to Libya’s sovereign wealth fund, The Wall Street Journal reports. The commission has also enquired about the operations of ConocoPhillips and Occidental Petroleum in Libya. SEC is currently examining the role of Goldman Sachs and other financial companies in violated bribery laws in dealings with Libya Investment Authority. The companies are cooperating with the authorities.
