Fannie Mae saw its issuance of guaranteed mortgage-backed securities decline 36% in April from $54 billion to $34.5 billion, the lowest level since January 2009, according to Housing Wire.

Fannie Mae saw its issuance of guaranteed mortgage-backed securities decline 36% in April from $54 billion to $34.5 billion, the lowest level since January 2009. At its peak, in June 2009, Fannie Mae issued $130 billion. The government-sponsored enterprise also reduced its mortgage portfolio for the 10th month in a row in April.
