In second place is Jinjin Wang, who was No. 2 last year in Technology, Media & Telecommunications. (This year the sector is divided into Technology and Telecommunications.) The UBS analyst, noted for what one investor calls his “thoughtful and thorough reporting,” urged clients to buy shares of China Unicom (Hong Kong) all the way back in June 2009, at HK$10.03, on the Beijing-based telecommunications services provider’s competitive edge as China’s only wideband code division multiple access operator; W-CDMA is the industry standard for 3G mobile communications. By the end of April 2011, the stock had rung up gains of 58.3 percent, to HK$15.88, and outpaced the sector by 60.4 percentage points.
