Hungary is seeking to establish a natural gas exchange that will commence trading by Jan. 1, 2013, Reuters reports. The proposal was sent by the Hungarian ruling party Fidesz.

The bourse will be operated by a firm that has a licence to run a power exchange and is owned by a power transmission system operator. The Hungarian power exchange HUPX competes with Prague-based Power Exchange Central Europe.
