SM Energy is selling a portion of its Eagle Ford shale position for nearly $225 million. The position consists of the company’s operated acreage in LaSalle County and Dimmit County, Texas.
The Colorado-based company did not disclose the names of the buyers. The sale, which is subject to customary purchase price adjustments and closing conditions, is expected to close in August 2011. The buyers will get nearly 12% of the takeaway capacity associated with SM Energy’s agreement with Eagle Ford Gathering.
