European Union executive, Michel Barnier, has proposed capping trading by big investors to control speculation on commodities.

European Union executive, Michel Barnier, has proposed capping trading by big investors to control speculation on commodities, Reuters reports. He has also suggested new rules to tackle speculation in derivatives. The new proposed rules by Barnier will be similar to ones placed in the U.S. Earlier, a similar initiative by France on imposing position limits on European traders of commodities was opposed by the U.K.
