Tunisia, Egypt To Get $40B G8 Aid

Group of Eight will provide a $40 billion aid package to Tunisia and Egypt.

Group of Eight (G8) will provide a $40 billion aid package to Tunisia and Egypt, The Wall Street Journal reports. The plan consists of $20 billion from multilateral banks over three years for economic transitions.

G8 members will provide a further $10 billion in bilateral deals and the remaining $10 billion will be contributed by OPEC members, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. The package will help stabilize the countries’ economies.
