NY Extends Banks Mortgage Probe

New York Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, has expanded investigation of banks’ mortgage loan and securitization process.

New York Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, has expanded investigation of banks’ mortgage loan and securitization process, Bloomberg reports. JP Morgan Chase, UBS and Deutsche Bank have been included in the probe.

Schneiderman is also seeking information about litigation between the bond insurers and banks that packaged mortgage securities. Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley are already part of the probe.
