AXA, Permira Get Travel Agency JV Nod

AXA Private Equity, the private equity unit of AXA Group, and Permira have acquired approval from the European Commission to form a joint venture.

AXA Private Equity, the private equity unit of AXA Group, and Permira have acquired approval from the European Commission to form a joint venture, The Wall Street Journal reports. The joint venture will focus on the firm’s existing travel agencies, GO Voyages and eDreams.

AXA and Permira will buy Opodo, owned by Spanish travel technology provider Amadeus, and combine the three to launch the joint venture. The Commission has reached the conclusion that the partnership will not affect competition within the European Union.
