OMERS Plans To Boost PE Portfolio

Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System is seeking to boost its private equity portfolio.

Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) is seeking to boost its private equity portfolio, Reuters reports. The Canadian pension fund aims to acquire companies between the $102 million to $512.09 million range.

The retirement system earlier partnered with private equity firm, Berkshire Partners, to acquire Husky International from Canadian buyout firm, Onex, for $2.1 billion. OMERS, which has around $54.28 billion in assets, has a $5.63 billion private equity allocation.
