Third Point Partners has appointed Munib Islam as its equity research head, Financial Times reports. He has rejoined the U.S. activist firm after three years.

Islam left Third Point to join Highbridge Capital Management in 2008 following a series of moves to stabilize and restructure the JPMorgan-owned hedge fund. At Highbridge he was serving as head of European equities.
