Nasdaq Gets Nod For Listings Market

Nasdaq OMX has obtained regulatory approval to launch a new listings market.

Nasdaq OMX has obtained regulatory approval to launch a new listings market. The new listings business, BX Venture Market, will allow lower-priced and riskier stocks to trade on its electronic trading platform. The new market will give companies, which would not otherwise qualify for an exchange listing, a more regulated alternative than the over-the-counter market. The companies listed on the BX Venture Market will be traded on Nasdaq’s INET trading platform. The market may be launched by the end of 2011.
