The Government Accountability Office has called on federal banking regulators and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to work together to develop foreclosure standards for servicers, reports Mortgage Orb.

The Government Accountability Office has called on federal banking regulators and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to work together to develop foreclosure standards for servicers. In a report on regulatory oversight, the GAO stated that as regulators and the CFPB have yet to clarify how they will share oversight of the sector, they should establish “clear goals, role and timelines” for overseeing mortgage servicers under their respective jurisdictions.”
