BlackRock is planning to charge an annual low balance fee for fund accounts that have a balance below $500, MutualFundWire reports. The firm will charge $20 for each account. BlackRock may also redeem the shares in the fund account if the net asset value falls below $250. The move will be effective from June 9, 2011.
