Grupo Petersen has acquired an additional 10% stake in Argentina oil and gas producer, YPF, The Wall Street Journal reports. The company, controlled by Argentina’s Eskenazi family, paid a total of$1.3 billion for the acquisition.

With the acquisition, Groupo Petersen has raised its total stake in the unit of Spain’s Repsol YPF to 25.46%. Repsol had sold a 14.9% stake in YPF to Grupo Petersen for about $2.2 billion in 2007.
