The sovereign wealth fund of China, China Investment Corporation (CIC), may receive a new capital injection from the government, Market Watch reports, citing New Century Weekly. China’s Ministry of Finance will issue special treasury bonds to buy foreign exchange reserves to fund the injection.
The injection will be part of a new long-term funding structure that will see CIC receiving billions of dollars annually. CIC manages about $300 billion in assets around the world, adds BBC News.
