The Jacksonville City Council is planning to invest in hedge funds and other alternative investments.

The Jacksonville City Council is planning to invest in hedge funds and other alternative investments, FINalternatives reports. It may invest in short-sellers and increase its allocation to alternatives to 10%.

At present, the pension has a 5% cap, but has never invested in a hedge or private equity fund. A bill may also allow the pension to raise the amount of foreign investment it can make from 25% of its holdings to 35%, adds Florida Times-Union.
