Ford Offers Unusual $1.5 Bln ABS

Ford Motor Credit has offered $1.5 billion of five-year asset-backed securities with what has been called an unusual structure, reports Dow Jones Newswires.

Ford Motor Credit has offered $1.5 billion of five-year asset-backed securities with what has been called an unusual structure. The company will convert to senior unsecured credit if two of the three major credit rating agencies raise its rating to investment grade. The deal, Ford Upgrade Exchange Linked Notes, is being sold through the FUEL Trust 2011-1, and has seen demand of $6 billion.
