Computershare Pays $550M For BNY Unit

Computershare has acquired Bank of New York Mellon’s investor-services business.

Computershare has acquired Bank of New York Mellon’s investor-services business. The Australian investment service provider will pay $550 million for the acquisition of the lender’s unit. Melbourne-based Computershare plans to fund the transaction with available cash and new credit lines. BNY Mellon’s business offers transfer agency and employee equity plan services to U.S. publicly listed companies.
