Gazprom To Merge Two Power Assets

Russian gas company, Gazprom, is merging its two power generation assets as part of a consolidation of its power generating subsidiaries.

Russian gas company, Gazprom, is merging its two power generation assets as part of a consolidation of its power generating subsidiaries, Reuters reports. Following the merger of OGK-2 and OGK-6, the company will sell part of the combined company through an IPO.

Gazprom’s energy holding, Gazpromenergoholding, has appointed JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Renaissance Capital and Sputnik Group to advise on the move. The merger is likely to be completed in the third or fourth quarter of 2011.
