Bain Capital is planning a bid for U.K. software group, Micro Focus, Financial Times reports. The U.S. private equity group seeks to offer £890 million for the Newbury-based company.
Micro Focus is also likely to get offers from a private equity rival or a trade buyer, such as Hewlett-Packard or Microsoft. Massachusetts-based Bain previously acquired SkillSoft, an Irish provider of e-learning software, for £720.1 million.
