U.S. Regulators To Define Swap Products

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission will unveil definitions for swaps products.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will unveil definitions for swaps products, Reuters reports. The regulators have also proposed the definitions for swap dealers and details on swap trading facilities The SEC will vote on its plan on April 27, which must also be approved by the CFTC. The SEC also plans to issue more proposals that would strip references to credit-ratings from federal rules.
