NYSTRS Hires Public Equities Head

New York State Teachers’ Retirement System has appointed Frederick Herrmann as managing director of public equities.

New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) has appointed Frederick Herrmann as managing director of public equities, Pensions & Investments reports. In his new role, Herrmann will manage $43 billion invested in public equities.

He is succeeding Lillyn Teh, who will remain with the system for an undetermined period to assist in the transition. Previously, Herrmann served as a managing director and portfolio manager at BlackRock.
