Canada Proposes Electronic-Trading Regs

The Canadian Securities Administrators has proposed rules designed to reduce risks associated with electronic trading.

The Canadian Securities Administrators has proposed rules designed to reduce risks associated with electronic trading. Under the proposal, marketplace participants would be required to establish, maintain and ensure compliance with “appropriate controls, policies and procedures..to manage the risks associated with various methods of electronic trading, including direct electronic access, the use of algorithms and high frequency trading,” according to the CSA.
