Shropshire County Pension Fund has appointed Northern Trust for securities lending services. The Shropshire County scheme has been a customer of Northern Trust since 1999.
The fund was seeking a lending solution to help it optimize returns at the same time as managing risk, said Justin Bridges, treasury manager at Shropshire Council. Northern Trust provides custody and related services to 36% of the local government pension schemes in the U.K.
