OMERS To Unveil $21B Infra Alliance

The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System is planning to launch a $21 billion infrastructure investment alliance.

The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) is planning to launch a $21 billion infrastructure investment alliance, IPE reports. OMERS Strategic Investments’ president and CEO, Jacques Demers, said that the pension fund had been in talks for the last 15 months and may now unveil the alliance by the end of 2011. As per the alliance, 80% of the investment will be made in Western Europe, including the U.K., and North America, excluding Mexico. The remaining 20% will be invested in other regions.
