Citigroup is seeking to sell around $1 billion of its private-equity portfolio.

Citigroup is seeking to sell around $1 billion of its private-equity portfolio, The Wall Street Journal reports. The U.S. lender is looking to sell both a fund interest in the KKR 2006 Fund as well as co-investment positions alongside the fund. Pantheon, Coller Capital, Lexington Partners, Partners Group and HarbourVest Partners have been invited to bid for the assets. New York-based Citigroup was in talks to sell stakes of around $500 million in buyout funds managed by CVC Capital Partners.
