The Carlyle Group has bought a majority stake in London-based visual effect software developer, The Foundry Visionmongers. The private equity firm has acquired the stake from Advent Venture Partners and other shareholders.
The financial details have not been disclosed. Falcon Investment Advisors has also converted its current ownership in The Foundry into mezzanine notes to support the acquisition. Arma Partners advised The Foundry, while Carlyle was advised by Travers Smith.
