Orascom Telecom Holdings may reduce its stake in its unit, Telecel Zimbabwe, Bloomberg reports. The network operator may decrease its stake from the 60% it currently holds, to 49%.
The move is part of Zimbabwe’s indigenization law, which requires locals to own a majority stake in foreign companies. A group of local investors currently owns 40% of Telecel.
