Illinois State Universities Retirement System (SURS) is planning to start a search for its first transition managers, Pensions & Investments reports. The retirement system is seeking to form a group of around five transition managers.
SURS has appointed its investment consultant, Callan Associates, to assist in the process. The program would include all asset classes in the pension fund’s investment portfolio. At present, it uses global custodian Northern Trust or its index fund managers for transitions.
