IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) is offering clearing for 13 freight swaps and a new iron ore swap via ICE Clear Europe, Mondovisione reports. The new contracts are an expansion of the energy portfolio cleared by ICE Clear Europe. They will be provided on a cleared-only basis and will be available from April 18, 2011, subject to regulatory approval. The dry and wet freight swaps, which are the first freight contracts cleared by ICE, will be based on relevant rates provided by the Baltic Exchange and Platts.
