Issuance of asset-backed commercial paper in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, fell in the fourth quarter after climbing in the preceding three-month period, according to Moody’s Investors Service.

Issuance of asset-backed commercial paper in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, fell in the fourth quarter after climbing in the preceding three-month period, according to Moody’s Investors Service. Moody’s reports that the overall balance of outstanding ABCP for the region was $172.3 billion at the end of the fourth quarter, down 4.2% from the third quarter and off 1.4% from a year earlier. The U.S. commercial paper market accounts for 62.3% of the ABCP issuance in the region.
