ING Groep is seeking to make a €2 billion payment to Dutch government in the next two months, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Dutch lender also plans to repay the rest of the funds it received during the financial crisis by May next year.

The Amsterdam-based financial institution received a €10 billion rescue package from the Dutch government. ING Groep is also planning to spin off its insurance business in two public offerings later this year, adds Financial Times.
