House Committee Votes To End Two Foreclosure Programs

The Republican-controlled House Financial Services Committee has voted to terminate two of three government-run foreclosure-prevention programs, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The Republican-controlled House Financial Services Committee has voted to terminate two of three government-run foreclosure-prevention programs. The termination of the two programs, managed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, will be voted on the House floor next week, but the committee did not take action on the Department of Treasury’s Home Affordable Mortgage Program, which is also being targeted.
