San Francisco Fed Appoints CEO

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed economic researcher, John Williams, as president and CEO.

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed economic researcher, John Williams, as president and CEO, The Wall Street Journal reports. He will replace Janet Yellen, who had resigned in October 2010, to become the vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Williams, who had joined the Fed in 1994, has served as the executive vice president and director of research at the San Francisco Fed since 2009. His appointment will be effective immediately.
