Greylock Boosts Tech Fund To $1B

Venture capital firm, Greylock Partners, has increased the size of its latest fund by 74% to $1 billion.

Venture capital firm, Greylock Partners, has increased the size of its latest fund by 74% to $1 billion, The Wall Street Journal reports. Greylock closed the fund in late 2009 at $575 million, but contacted its existing investors in January about raising the fund’s size. The company is seeking capital to invest in large, fast-growing companies in consumer web and enterprise technology through the fund, which is currently less than 25% invested. The company will invest $25-200 million in such growth investments at any one time.
