Terumo will acquire U.S. blood transfusion technology firm, CaridianBCT Holding, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Japanese medical device maker will pay $2.63 billion for the acquisition to Sweden’s Gambro, adds Reuters. The Tokyo-based company plans to fund the acquisition with cash and bank loans. Terumo will buy all of the shares in Colorado-based CaridianBCT and seeks to complete the deal in April or May.
